Welcome to Sequoia Flight School. The Basic Sim Pilot Course is a free Flight Sim Economy virtual flight school for flight simulator enthusiasts.
The goal of the Basic Sim Pilot Course is to give simulator flyers the real world tools to develop a deeper and richer sim flying experience. You don’t have to be a pilot to enjoy flight simulators but you do need to understand the basics of flight and how the controls work.
Beyond those basics, sim pilots can study aviation and enrich their sim flying experience with realistic weather, aircraft systems failures and other real world simulations, to the level of their training. You need a real airplane to learn how to actually move the machine through the weather, but you can learn a vast amount about flying using simulators, on your own time, at your own pace.

Sequoia Flight School and Flight Sim Economy
FSEconomy (https://www.fseconomy.net/) is an environment where flight simulation enthusiasts can add a new aspect to their flying. Since 2005, FSEconomy has allowed over 10,000 registered simulator pilots to earn in-game virtual money by flying their virtual aircraft to and from nearly every airport on Earth.
With those virtual earnings, pilots can purchase their own airplanes, join or start virtual businesses with other members, operate FBOs, and more – all within the free world of FSEconomy (FSE).
Sequoia Flight School is an FSE flight group that sim pilots can join (https://sequoiaflightschool.com/SFSGroup) which allows students to use Sequoia Flight School aircraft and facilities in FSE. You’ll learn more about that in the Basic Sim Pilot Course.
Admission to Sequoia Flight School
Admission to the Basic Sim Pilot Course is free and students don’t have to join the Sequoia Flight School FSE flying group, but you do have to register on our website in order to take the classes and quizzes.
To enroll in the online flight school see the ADMISSIONS link in the right sidebar. You’ll need to register with the website in order to take the online courses. We protect privacy and never release any user data.
To use Sequoia Flight School aircraft in Flight Sim Economy you have to be a member of the Sequoia Flight School FSE flying group at: https://sequoiaflightschool.com/group. However, if you’re doing the basic course in your local area using your own aircraft then all you have to do is register on the school website.

Tuition
There’s no tuition for the Basic Pilot Course and you can fly those flights in rented aircraft from anywhere. To get your Basic Pilot Course certificate you’ll have to be registered through the school website. Click here to Register.
You pay the tuition for the advanced flight courses by flying your training flights in SFS aircraft at 40% pilot pay + a profit share.
Non Profit Flying Group
The Sequoia Flight School FSE flying group is set up as a nonprofit. Each month 90% of the group’s profits are split on a per run basis between all active Sequoia Flight School group members. The more you fly the higher your profit share percentage. Earn while you learn.
